Nick Kliewer
Nick is a registered patent attorney and intellectual property (IP) litigator with extensive experience in handling disputes involving all types of IP rights, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.
Nick has assisted clients in over 100 IP cases in both litigation and patent procurement involving technologies such as LED lighting, industrial & oilfield equipment, medical devices, cellular and wireless communications protocols, electronic commerce and payment systems, audio/video encoding and streaming, semiconductor design and fabrication, and many others. He also counsels clients on IP license negotiation and how to minimize litigation exposure.
In his practice, Nick represents both IP owners and parties accused of violating the IP rights of others. He has also served as outside "in-house" IP counsel, assisting clients in managing their IP portfolios as well as managing outside litigation counsel. He has litigated cases in district courts across the country and before administrative agencies including the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. As a U.S. Army veteran, Nick is dedicated to his clients and to their success, taking an analytical approach to his legal work, much like he did while working as a design and applications engineer at Texas Instruments before attending law school.
Nick received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and his J.D. from the University of Houston.
Nicole Reed Kliewer
Nicole's practice focuses on patent litigation and prosecution. As an associate at Nix Patterson & Roach she helped secure several multi-million dollar patent infringement recoveries. Prior to moving to the Dallas area, Nicole was an associate in the litigation section at Kelly, Hart & Hallman.
Nicole received her Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from the University of Arkansas and her J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law, where she was a Sumners Scholar and editor on the SMU Law Review. After law school, Nicole served as clerk for Chief Justice John Cayce on the Texas Second Court of Appeals.
